What a privilege & honor to see our boys becoming men…… men of teamwork, character, vision! Our future is in good hands! Thank YOU for the impact this program has on our future husbands, fathers, & leaders!
Staff of PBS, I would just like to thank you so much for allowing me to participate in the most life changing experience that I have ever had. Throughout the entire week I learned about how to become a leader, a comrade, and the man that I was meant to be with the help of your guidance. You all have truly inspired me beyond belief, and I can’t believe that the week is already over, for I feel that my great city of Wateree was a home away from my home. We were all brothers that looked out for one another, pushed each other to the max, supported one another, and built relationships that will last for the rest of our lives, just like you said Sewis. All of the activities, the assemblies, education, and performances were truly stunning and never made me feel more proud to be living in the state and country that I am today. Though the parting from PBS was saddening, the message and morals that I gained from this program never inspired me more to live life to the fullest and be the leader that I can be, for as we learned, we never know which day will be our last. Once again I thank you all so much for allowing me this great experience, and may the program live forever as different strangers come in as boys, then inseperable brothers leave as men. We are Boy’s State.

This morning on my way to work I saw the envoy of buses leaving Anderson headed to Columbia. It was thrilling to know that these young men were going to our State Capitol! I waved to all the buses. I was listening to the radio about 25 minutes later and a caller said ” I just saw 8 or 9 school buses following and Anderson University bus with police escort on both sides. What is going on?” I just laughed because no one knew the answer. So proud of that Anderson got to share in this terrific program this year!
Great job to all the staff and volunteers. It was neat to see Preston come home with such a humble heart and an excitement for others, the friends he made and the staff he came to know so well. From all of his excitement, it was obvious to see the week was very personally meaningful for him and I know, as a prior Boys State Citizen myself, that he will remember the week for the rest of his life. I know that all you gave him helped to further shape his character and values and his passion for others. I only hope my next son will have the same opportunity when he becomes a junior in high school. Thanks!
I was a little nervous leaving Kiante with strangers. However, the staff made you feel comfortable and explained the process. The first day he complained about missing the basketball camp at Wofford College. The second day he complained about missing home. By the third day he was not longer thinking about basketball or home because he saw beyond sports and friends. He enjoyed the experience and made friends that will last a life time. Thanks Boys State for helping us shape HIM into the man that GOD has called him to be
