Yes, delegates selected by American Legion Posts MUST finalize registration in the online registration system by June 7, 2020 in order to be recognized as an official delegate to the Palmetto Boys State Program. By virtue of your selection and final registration, you will receive a Certificate of Selection as well as a copy of a Proclamation signed by American Legion SC Department Commander Walt Richardson. If you only want to receive the Certificate and Proclamation, PBS will pay the postage. If you would like to obtain a Delegate Merchandise Packet which contains the Certificate and Proclamation and also includes a Boys State T-shirt, graduation cord, and lapel pin, there will be a $40 fee to handle the cost of the merchandise as well as the packing and shipping costs. Check with the Legion Post who selected you to determine if it will pay the $40 packet fee. If not, you may do so by going back into your online registration portal and clicking the “Delegate Merchandise Packet” tab in the portal.  This will take you to a secure payment site where you can remit payment. All delegates who are fully registered and pay the $40 packet fee by June 7th will receive their merchandise packet no later than August 15. Those who only want the Certificate and Proclamation, should receive them a little earlier.
